John’s public policy experience is informed by degrees in Economics from the University of Ottawa (BA) and University of Guelph (MA) and work experience with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Statistics Canada, Agriculture division. Earlier in his career at OMAFRA, John worked on loan guarantee programs and policy instruments such as Farm Business Registration and Farm Property Tax.
For the last ten years, he has been the Senior Policy Advisor responsible for Federal/Provincial/Territorial Business Risk Management negotiations and programming as well as provincial Risk Management Programming Ministry operations. John has been the FPT co-chair of the Business Risk Management working group and represents the Ministry at the Ontario Agricultural Commodity Council meetings, centered around BRM programing and issues.
John and his family live outside of Fergus, Ontario with a small number of farm pets.
